Perhaps you have ideas for novels that you’ve started but put away saying you’ll come back to them when you’ve got more time. Or you’re making painstaking, stop-start progress on your book. People keep asking how it’s going and you feel a bit embarrassed or guilty that you don’t have much to report. Maybe it’s not you that’s the writer but your nearest and dearest and you’d like to know how to help them.
I’m not only a story coach. I am also a writer. And I’m a mum… an all-round busy person.
Despite being busy, I have a novel out and I’m writing the second book in the series.
The Heretic’s Servant came about through sitting in the chair and writing it. There were various stages, lots of them messy and imperfect. Okay… it was pretty much ALL imperfect! The point is, I kept making progress.
Progress, not perfection.
Meeting your writing goals in 2024
Here is the solution. More than the awareness of the problem of your time shortage. You know that. You also know that the book will only get written if you write it. Hazel Hitchins Author and I have a brand new offer for you that supports you to actually write it. You can carve out the time, get your head in the right space, and develop the habits that will see your writing progress take hold. You can be one of our founding members. There are loads of writing groups on Facebook. You’ve probably joined some (or your writing friend has). They’ve got their good points but they don’t help you sit in the chair and write. They don’t help you carve out the time to put words on the page.
Book Forge – Mentoring for Writers
Hazel and I have set up a new ‘fellowship’ for fiction writers that is a safe place to come to hammer out the words. We’ve called it Book Forge. (See what we did there?) It’s going to be a community of support, motivation-boosting, goal-setting, plan-making, habit-forming… and absolutely no guilt for being less than perfect. Progress, not perfection, remember?
A programme of materials forms the bedrock of the ‘fellowship’. It isn’t a how-to writing course – it’s about ‘fixing’ the writer, not the writing. Or rather, showing you that you’re not broken in the first place.
FREE Progress Tracker for Writers
We’d like to offer you the progress tracker – free of charge – that we’ll be using in Book Forge. It’s a little insight into how we work and how we can help you write more and feel great.
